Five pupils from Bludenz took part in a three day seminar exploring different modular synthesizers and composing and rehearsing for a concert. To Bludenz Gammon brought a dozen modular synthesizers for the festival of contempory music. Gammon started his Modular Synthesizer Ensemble seminars at SUPERBOOTH17 and you can have a short insight into this here. This festival has been founded 29 years ago. Starting with the „ Tage zeitgemäßer Musik” (days of contemporary music) at Bludenz. In the coming weeks we will be covering his different projects with the Modular Synthesizer Ensemble at Define festival (Denmark), concert at Grätzel Galerie (Vienna) and many more. Our dear friend Gammon has had a very busy November. The most recent beginners workshop with Miquel: Follow the LINK for the others and keep aneye on the Event Calendar for workshop announcements and other synthesizer related events. Here is th latest of our special workshops. If you havn’t already, take a look at the previous recordings, a perfect thing for those cosy holidays! In January we will start again with new workshops of all kinds and throughout the year more workshops with special guests will be recorded. On December 14th 2017, the last workshop of this year, was hosted by Schneidersladen employee Miquel (find some picures below the video). In 2018 Schniedersladen wll continue to help newbies to get into eurorack and experts to improve their knowledge. These spechial workshops were recorded and edited and can be found here. This year some of the P-A-T-C-H-I-N-G workshops were hosted by special guests like Richard Devine and Surachai, Walker Farrell and Tobi Neumann. Hundreds of modular beginners and experts take part in the DON’T PANIC (beginner) and P-A-T-C-H-I-N-G (advanced) workshops each year. My idea was to make the Deluge capable of doing the conversion of audio clock received to MIDI out, thus saving money on having to buy an external sync box.Every second and fourth Thursday there is a workshop at Schneidersladen. Which is why people use something like Innerclock or E-RM Multiclock devices for sample accurate sync across all devices. Also recording back into your DAW there is some latency. Clock from your DAW is not as stable as dedicated hardware. You could of course send audio clock to the Deluge and then have your DAW send clock over MIDI to other gear. Doesn't entirely make sense though that you can have the Deluge receive audio clock but that it then cancels out any ability to send clock, meaning you can only sequence the Deluge internal synth engine in time with your DAW or another hardware sequencer that is sending out audio clock. Now, from what I understand the Deluge receives clock pulses via audio as mentioned above but doesn't pass through that clock as MIDI out, that requires a conversion. The latter requires a plugin or for you to set up a click pulse wave and perhaps a DC coupled audio interface. I turn off that feature on my keyboard controller and use the Deluge as Master so start button and stops work from the Deluge.Įssentially the Deluge receives clock either MIDI/DIN or Audio CLK Sync. It means I have to use it for all start stop commands if the Deluge slaves to it and the Deluge will slave automatically if it receives those commands and clock at its IN port. It’s kind of a pain though for me to have my controller keyboard as master for real-time messages. My keyboard controller sends midi clock, start/stop/reset, etc and will work as master for Deluge and several synths with sequencers setup on the Deluge Out port. I don’t use a DAW, but the Deluge sends system real-time messages to out port if set to thru also. I wonder though, whether the Deluge sends the clock from the CLK IN thru to the midi output port, does anyone know this? would this CLK IN function fix this problem? however, when using the Deluges delay on a given sample/synth it will 95% of the time warble and it makes it unusable for me. with cakewalk i have not experienced syncing problems recording i cant hear any real latency. Im new to this jargen of syncing clocks like this.
